Susan Oswald invited to speak at Law Society of Scotland Seminar
6th October 2021
Susan Oswald presented at the Law Society of Scotland’s Child Welfare Reporter Seminar today. She covered the practical dilemmas in the preparation of child welfare reports including how to deal with potential conflicts of interest, addressing some of the issues that can arise when obtaining children’s views, exercising judgement rather than being judgemental, and what practical steps can be taken to ensure personal safety.
The seminar was chaired by Naeema Yaqoob Sajid with other speakers presenting on regulatory requirements and the application process to become a child welfare reporter, domestic abuse and child protection issues post-pandemic. Presentations were followed by a very lively question and answer session.
